Proving UK city breaks can be romantic, love springs from the city of Bath Spa. The city and surrounding area is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is full of stunning architecture. Have a royal romance in this beautiful coastal town. A certain young couple tying the knot this year met at university in St Andrew's, giving rise to this year's royal wedding. So, grab your very own Prince (or Princess) Charming and pay a visit to this mediaeval paradise. Wander round the atmospheric ruins of the Cathedral of St Andrew, or visit the cliff-top ruins of St Andrew's Castle.  Visit in the summer and you can spend the day on West Sands, one of Britain's best beaches.  Even if it's not sunbathing weather, the beach is still game, if you are: walk hand in hand along the sand at dusk and see the amazing purple sunset. Why not finish off the day in true British style, sat outside with fish and chips, listening to the waves crash. And, ladies: if he insists on a round of golf, then take solace in the fact that St Andrew's offers some brilliant, independent shops where you can enjoy a spot of retail therapy, or let yourself be pampered in one of the town's spas. Fine dining and romance go hand in hand, and Ludlow has plenty of both. Nestled in unspoilt countryside, Ludlow has a well-deserved reputation for being something of a gastronomic hotspot. Feed your passion with a meal in a Michelin recommended restaurant (no less than seven to choose from), or head back to one of our country cottages and cook up a storm in the kitchen. As well as a lively market, there are independent food shops galore in the town, where you can stock up on goodies - cheeses, meats, fruit and veg, cakes and pastries - to fill your plate for a cosy dinner a deux. During the day, potter around the historic town centre, with its Georgian and mediaeval architecture. Or work up an appetite by exploring the hills, valleys and castles of the Welsh Marches.  However you spend your time in Ludlow, you're sure to be inclined to agree with John Betjeman, who proclaimed it to be 'the most perfect town in England'. The county is full of romantic spots, but if you're staying in one of our cottages in Cornwall, be sure to pay a visit to Tintagel. At first sight, Tintagel seems an everyday bustling coastal town, but this is King Arthur country and is steeped legend. Knights in shining armour would be foolish to miss Tintagel Castle, King Arthur's fortress. Your damsel may not be in distress, but she's sure to want to soak up the romantic atmosphere of the castle, perched on the headland above crashing waves. Romantics should also seek out the 60ft waterfall at nearby St Nectan's Kieve. Many believe this plunge pool to be a sacred site, so let it work its magic on you and your partner.
