You'll find all the usual country pursuit displays as well as some with a distinct Scottish flavour - anyone for traditional pipe bands? Another stately home affair, Chatsworth Country Fair is always held the weekend following August Bank Holiday. Around 90,000 people descend on this corner of Derbyshire to partake in the extravaganza. Sheepdog trials, fishing, and gun dogs are joined by hot air balloons, vintage cars, freefall parachuting and aerobatics. Chatsworth Country Fair has strong links to the armed forces, so keep your eyes looking skywards for the Red Arrows. The Royal Norfolk Show is a strong contender for Best in Show. Motorcycle stunt displays, the Red Devils parachuting team, chainsaw sculpture demonstrations and a vintage vehicle parade join the more traditional displays at Wales's premier country show. However, as we all know, there ain't nothing like a hound dog, and canines are big business at the Welsh Game Fair. Terrier and lurcher enthusiasts converge to show off their four-legged friends, hoping to impress the judges in all manner of classes. The Welsh Game Fair also hosts Wales's largest gathering of hounds - over 30 packs take part in the prestigious Hound Show.
